Baby Equipment
One of the first things you realize when becoming a parent is that you need a separate house, just to keep all the baby equipment in.
Little babies sure need a lot of “stuff”
For such small creatures, their stuff certainly takes up a lot of space. When you decide to go out to visit family and friends, it is an act of major planning like military exercise, and it can't really be, ‘spur of the moment’, or spontaneous. You most certainly have to think ahead and decide what baby equipment you and the baby will need.
Special Baby Equipment pack!
A lot of parents keep a ‘special baby bag’ ready, packed with all the baby equipment they'll need. Going on vacation requires even more careful planning and preparation. The first baby born is always the most demanding of attention for mums and dads concentration, in thinking up all possible needs for almost all possible unforeseen events.
Baby Equipment saving in costs.
Baby equipment is also a high cost business, and some parents save money in buying, ‘used items’, or receive ‘gifts’, from friends or relatives. Once baby equipment is bought for the first born child, you can hand some things down to the next. It is therefore most important that you buy products from reputable companies, with guarantees for quality and especially for safety.
Everyday needs and equipment for a baby.
There are the normal day-to-day needs of the baby that have to be considered, including baby equipment, such as formula bottles, sterilization units and bottlebrushes and solution for cleaning the bottles. You can also obtain teat brushes for cleaning the teats. A set of bibs, with excellent ‘Velcro’ fastenings, is also a good idea.
If you use ‘non-disposable type diapers’, you'll need the pins for them. It's good to have a baby changing mat, for baby to lie on and such a delicate little bottom will need lots of moistened baby wipes.
When shopping for the expected or new arrival, it's easy to overlook the less obvious items of baby equipment, especially as mentioned if it’s your first born. You'll need such things as baby nail clippers and cotton tipped baby ear bud cleaners. The first requirement of the new baby when arriving home is a good sleep, (you wish!) So you'll need a cot or crib with a good mattress and bedding. Remember a well-rested baby is a happy baby, with happy parents. A travel cot is also useful for overnight stays at grandparents or with other friends and relations.
Safe transportation of Baby – and of course You!
Providing for safe transportation is vital, when buying baby equipment. A good car seat is essential, and most quality stores will provide a trained person to fit it in your vehicle, which is very reassuring. You will of course, also provide baby with a buggy. This it self can have it’s own accessories for different weather conditions; a parasol to keep baby in the shade in summer and a rain cover to keep baby snug and dry in winter.
As baby changes into a toddler, other kinds of baby equipment will be needed to keep baby safe. A stair gate at the top of the stairs and another one at the bottom will prevent falling accidents. Cooker guards prevent baby from pulling down cooking pots, and socket guards stop baby from poking curious fingers into places where they shouldn't go.
So as you will realize baby equipment must keep up with the baby's development, as baby progresses from formula and goes on to solid food and a variety of drinks. Then you will need weaning spoons and training cups.
Baby equipment can be fun too, with colorful swings, rocking cradles and playpens. As well as a whole host of Toys and play things a high chair can be stenciled with a favorite cartoon character. After a day's fun, which can be really hard work, you can lie them down for the night and using another essential bit of baby equipment, simply listen out on the baby monitor.
