Baby Girl’s Dresses

How you can preserve your precious Baby Girls Dresses, as she grows up!

To parents all over the world, there is nothing more important to them than their new baby. Almost as important, is what they wear. And an important thing is just how you best preserve that wonderful baby girls dress when the time comes when she outgrows it, which will be sooner than you realize.

If your little one has recently outgrown her dress, you need to find a way to safely store her gowns without ruining them, or allowing time to ruin them. There are a few tips you need to make sure to pay attention to. After all, the memories, connected to these articles of clothing are precious and strong, and you want you to have your baby girl dresses, to treasure for many years to come.

It is most important to keep certain things in mind when you are storing any type of clothing. One is always to remember to keep the clothing dry.

Don’t store the gowns in places that don’t have a good circulation of cool, dry air. Moisture in the air can promote mold growth and mould and grime to grow on the surface of the fabric of your baby girl dresses. This would cause the fibers in the cloth of the dresses to rot; such deterioration will eventually destroy the precious gown.

The baby dresses to be preserved also will need to be wrapped-up in a cotton sheet, when put away. This should allow the babies baby’s dresses to breathe and will prevent the fabric from getting stale. Also, take good care to make sure you keep your baby girl dresses away from extreme temperatures. Extreme cold will cause the fabric in the dress to stress, and eventually deteriorate over time. Extremes of heat can actually cause the fabric to dry out, which will cause it to ‘dry rot’.

Keep away from mice or bugs and don’t let the light in!

Obviously, don’t store them where bugs or mice have easy access to them. Since mice will eat the fabric and bugs will nest inside the fabric, staining and corrupting it.
It’s most important to keep your baby girl dresses away from places such as the attic or in outside sheds. Also, it has to be remembered that extreme strong light exposure will damage dresses over time. Exposure to strong sunlight must be avoided at all cost. The fabric in baby girl dresses will break down, and the colors will fade very badly.

Keep your Baby Dresses away from ‘untreated wood’, of any kind.

Another important thing to remember is never, ever put them anywhere near to ‘unfinished wood’, like for instance the inside of a dresser drawer. If it’s unfinished, the wood holds natural acids and chemicals, that will simply ruin the baby girl dresses. If you must do so line it with an ‘acid-free’ paper. This will keep any such harmful chemicals off of your baby girl dresses. But to be really sure try to avoid such locations for baby clothes storage.

Follow the rules and you can keep your Baby Dresses looking like new!

With all of these things to remember, when storing your child’s dresses, it might make you feel a bit overwhelmed, but don’t let such things bother you. In order to maintain your baby girl dresses, in the best possible condition, you’re going to have to make sure you just follow the simple rules outlined in this article.

While it might seem like a lot, to take in, you’ll be glad you did and that you adequately protected your little one’s beautiful gowns in the end. There’s nothing more comforting than to pull out your daughter’s baby girl dresses while she’s away at college, and reminisce over the happy memories and reflect on the years gone by.
