Baby Toys
Baby Toys everywhere!
When our children enter our lives, our houses can sometimes be disorganized. Once the children come along, this disorganization can rapidly become permanent, turning plain disorganization and clutter into chaos. That certainly was true for me once we had a baby. Suddenly, my house was clean but so cluttered with baby toys and baby equipment everywhere. I just couldn’t cope. It was so hard I just couldn't keep up with working AND raising a child. I was content if I just managed to have only half of the house cluttered with baby toys.
What Baby Toys should you choose?
Parents spend so much time and thought into what kind of baby toys should be purchased and what Toys should be overlooked. Parents all want their children to have lots of educational baby toys to begin life with. I was one of them. I didn't want my daughter to have anything but educational toys. I was very certain I wanted her learning her colors and the alphabet, way before any of the other children. I neglected the fact that she had to learn how to be a child too!
Baby toys are sold everywhere these days. You can go to the expensive retail stores to purchase new, or you can find quality used toys, at yard sales and consignment shops. It obviously depends on how much you want to spend on your child. I wasn’t always able to afford to buy brand new expensive baby toys.
Baby Toys can be costly!
When I was pregnant, I registered for many baby toys hoping to cut down my own costs for the future. I was lucky enough to get most of the ones on my list. However, I also found many of my daughter's baby toys at neighborhood yard sales. I admit, many of those toys that I managed to find were educational in some way or other. I tended to chose baby toys with bright primary colors and interesting shapes, because that was very important to me.
Educational Toys versus just fun toys?
When looking for baby toys or toys for any young child, you do not always have to get educational toys. All toys should stimulate their minds and help them develop their intellectual skills even the fun toys which I was guilty of ignoring in the past. All toys should revolve around simply playing; this is, after all, the definition of the word TOY! Now that my daughter is a toddler, she doesn’t really need baby toys that teach the simple basics. I do owe some of her knowledge and early learning skills to her earlier baby toys. However, now that she is into older toys she still does learn things. As an example, her ‘kitchen set’ has lots of food and dining items. So she’s grasped the concept of ‘setting a table’, and what foods go with what foods. She has developed an ‘imagination’, which is what ‘TOYS’ are intended to do and she likes to play "pretend" now as well. I just adore watching her play this way.
Good choice of Baby Toys give kids a head start in life.
While I do credit many of her baby toys for giving her a wonderful head start, a lot has to do with what you permit and encourage your child to do. Just allowing them to explore and develop a creative imagination. Some day they will thank you for it.
