Diaper Changing for beginners.

There is one thing that really strikes fear into the hearts of men, and their new babies, even though they would never actually admit it. This fear is when the time comes around to do a 'baby diaper change'. Especially for that 'first time', many men are afraid, very, very afraid. It isn't a fault, really, it's just a natural fear of 'not knowing what to do',If it's dads first baby. he is entering into a world about which he has absolutely no previous knowledge.

Knowing that there is perhaps nothing quite as delicate and fragile as a newborn baby. A 'diaper change' does not actually have to be so 'scary', even though some of the stuff you find IN the diaper might really frighten you! Dads may just be a bit reluctant to take the 'risk', at first!

If your husband or partner seems reluctant to get involved in a diaper change, It probably will not be because he is lazy or unwilling to help. It may well just mean he's afraid of doing it wrong. Or he may even be afraid he may do something which could even harm the baby.

You yourself may also find this new experience a little daunting, but moms usually respond naturally and take to the diaper changing task very quickly.

You should take the time to show your husband how easy a diaper change can be, and to reassure him that he can't harm your baby. However confident your husband may be in all other aspects of his life, he may feel an unreasonable fear of what he should do when it comes to a newborn diaper change.

The baby is so tiny, yet their arrival is a sudden and barely anticipated, awesome responsibility. When it comes down to it, nothing will ever be as challenging as feeling confident in all that you do for your kids, even though it is something as simple and basic as a diaper change.

One aspect of the diaper change, that could confuse your husband, and maybe perhaps you also, is what diaper you should use, and what 'other stuff' you need to accomplish the task.There are so many different kinds of diapers in various sizes, There are disposable diapers and there are 'terry toweling' washable ones, which are nowadays regarded as more environmentally friendly.There are also many products on the market for 'diaper rashes', and for protection against baby's bottom wetness.

Try to make it very simple for your man. If you like to use something at every diaper change, make sure he knows exactly what it is and how much to use. This will help him and take away a lot of the mystery out of the pile of products you may have sitting there. In all of this be sure to let him know exactly how much you appreciate his help and how important it is for both of you, to share such parental duties.

Once you have helped teach your husband how to do a diaper change, you will be freeing-up some valuable time for yourself. If you have a husband or partner who is good at this, consider yourself blessed.

There are still many, unfortunately, who won't even consider doing it. If you can teach them how to do it, and they are comfortable with it, you can then breath easier.

For instance if you want an hour to relax in the tub, or if you want to take walk alone,or even to take a nap after a sleepless night' you don't have to worry being interrupted or called back for an 'emergency' diaper change. Not only that, your man will be proud of his new fathering skills and his relationship with your baby will be greatly enhanced.
