Picture your Baby, Digitally
A few week before my son was born, I carefully searched ‘on line’ and bought a Digital Camera. My aim was to create a ‘Baby Book’, for him, that would include not only his important first year developments, but would also help capture his physical growth, over his first year of life. These times are so precious and in looking back, so fleeting, that such moments are ones which are so important to record.
What sort of Digital Camera do I need?
I was unsure which camera I should buy and which would be best so I carefully went through the online, Digital Camera sellers and made my choice, I also looked at a few real life camera sales locations and took careful note of prices etc. Eventually we sorted through the variety of features, available and selected the ideal digital camera, best suited for our project.
How good will the Digital Camera’s pictures be?
If you are already ‘technology type’, you’ve probably had a digital camera for years, but for someone not sure of the technology, like me, making the switch from traditional photographs, to a digital format was very big step. It isn’t that I don’t appreciate up to date technology, I just didn’t understand many aspects of it. I wondered just how good the pictures from a digital camera would be when compared to my tried and trusted 35mm camera. So despite some doubts, I selected and bought my camera, and when I received it I carefully read the literature and started snapping pictures.
The quality of the Digital Camera’s pictures are quite stunning!
One of the best features of a digital camera, that I really love, is the ability for you to be able to review the pictures, before printing, and saving them. You can take a series of photos and then pick out the best of them, without the worry or expense of ‘wasting film’. But the one I was most worried about, and the most important feature, the, was the quality, and I must say that I was ‘VERY impressed’, with my Digital Camera’s ability to produce even better pictures than the ones taken with my 35mm camera.
Buy the best Digital Camera for your needs.
Digital Cameras have advanced a long way during the last few years, you can buy one now, and with so many features that, if, like me, you’re an amateur photographer you’d never ever even use. That’s why it’s important to find out exactly, when you’re buying a digital camera for the first time, just what you are getting, so that you can decide what features you need and which features you can do without. There seems no point in paying good money for features you’ll never ever use. Since my main desire was to be taking pictures of my family, especially my new baby, I didn’t need a digital camera with a tremendous ‘zoom lens’ feature. But because I would be taking photographs almost every day for at least a year, I did need a digital camera with a good battery and with good digital storage space for the pictures. These were just a couple of the features I considered from the information I received online and from Photo wise friends and family.
I kept well away from the high-end, ‘all dancing, all singing’, professional cameras, to the more reasonable priced ones, without all the ‘special features’. I did actually spend some extra money to get a digital camera with a good battery, and picture storage, but it was worth the cost it because I was always ready with the Camera to record the momentous moments of my baby’s life!
I have never regretted my idea, to Purchase a Digital Camera to record my baby’s first year of life and in fact the challenge now is to capture all of the other later development stages which seem to occur more and more rapidly, as each day goes by.
